Over 1,800 students stopped by the School of Computer, Data, and Information Sciences job fair held on September 26 to network with local and national businesses looking for talent for internships and full-time career opportunities.

Students networked with 48 employers including DraftKings, Google, Epic, Fetch, Raven, and more.

“The career fair was an inspiring testament to the power of collaboration between our university and industry partners. Witnessing the enthusiasm, talent, and potential of our students meeting with engaged and forward-thinking employers reaffirms that we are indeed shaping successful futures together,” says Director of Corporate Relations Justin Hines.

Due to the high demand for connecting technology with humanity in today’s job market, employers are eagerly recruiting students with a background in computer, data, and information sciences.

The Computer Sciences department has held job fairs since 2006, and the creation of the School for Computer, Data, and Information Sciences allowed for the fair to be expanded a few years ago to include students across CDIS majors and more employers across a variety of industries.

Drawing thousands of students across many majors, this year’s attendance nearly doubled, making this one of the largest job fairs since its inception.

Prior to the job fair, students were invited to participate in resume workshops and mock interviews to prepare for the fair.

“This event serves as a vivid reminder that when academia and industry join forces, we not only bridge the gap between education and employment but build a bridge to a brighter, more promising future of collaboration,” says Hines.
