Since our inception in 2019, the School of Computer, Data & Information Sciences has embodied the idea that collaboration can yield monumental results. How do I give?
There are multiple ways to give.
- You can give online through our giving form.
- You can also make a Qualified Charitable Distribution gift from your IRA or a distribution from your Donor Advised Fund (DAF). Please complete this IRA/DAF Notification Form if you are interested in this option.
- Installment options are also available. Please see the FAQ “May I give in installment payments?” for more information.
What can I put on my recognition tile?
You have the freedom to personalize your tile according to your preferences. Whether you choose to inscribe it with your name, dedicate in memory/honor of someone, or include an inspirational phrase, there’s ample flexibility in customizing the tile to your liking.
Tiles are 3D printed wood that are approximately 4” in size and can accommodate 44 characters spread over multiple lines.
All inscriptions are subject to approval by the School of Computer, Data & Information Sciences.
How long will the campaign last?
The Badger Effect campaign will be available for a limited time, as we only have 500 tiles. If you are interested in participating, seize the opportunity before the tiles run out.
When can I see the donor wall?
You will be able to see your name as part of our beautiful donor wall when Morgridge Hall opens in 2025.

May I give in installment payments?
Installment options are available, but cannot be completed through our online giving form. If you are interested in exploring installment payments please fill out this Gift Commitment Interest Form and a member of our team will reach out to guide you through the next steps.
Payments can be made over two years, with the full gift paid in full by March 1, 2026.
Can I choose the location of my tile?
We are unable to guarantee the placement of any tiles. If you would like to send us a request regarding the location of your tile, please contact Shannon Timm at shannon.timm@wisc.edu.
Who can participate?
Anyone looking to make a difference in the future of technology in Wisconsin is welcome to participate in The Badger Effect.
What will my donation support?
Donations will go towards the CDIS Building for the Future Fund which supports the planning and construction of Morgridge Hall for the School of Computer, Data & Information Sciences, which relies entirely on private funding.
By joining The Badger Effect you are not simply funding a building, you are supporting the growth of technology in Wisconsin. Every contribution will be used to enable cutting-edge research, support our rapidly growing student body, and forge enduring connections with industry and the broader community.
Can I donate for more than one tile?
You are welcome to make gifts for multiple tiles as long as tiles are still available.
We are unable to guarantee the placement of any tiles but if you would like to make a request that your tiles be placed together, please contact Shannon Timm at shannon.timm@wisc.edu and we will make every effort to accommodate your request.
Can this be a joint or group contribution?
Yes, multiple individuals can be honored on one tile within the 44 character limit. However, the University of Wisconsin Foundation will only process one transaction per tile.
